Every once in a while, you run out of something at home that you really need, but you can't find the time or energy to drive down the hill or to your favorite store to get it. Sometimes it's not available in Big Bear, and sometimes you just want the convenience of shopping from your own home without high-cost delivery. Shop 'n Drop is the service solution for you. Let's find out why.

Q. What is Shop 'n Drop?

A. Shop 'n Drop is a service that allows you to choose the items you want from select stores and to have FBOCAR purchase the items for you and deliver them to you in Big Bear.

Q. Will you deliver them to my home or business?

A. Yes, we deliver, or you may pick up your items at our location in Big Bear. Call us for directions to our location.

Q. How does the service work?

A. You phone, fax, or e-mail your order to us and we'll purchase your items for you on our next scheduled trip to your favorite store and you'll be told when your items will be available for drop-off at your location. You pay us when we drop off your items in Big Bear.

Q. How often do you shop?

A. Currently, we make at least one trip a week. Trip frequency will increase as demand increases, but you can always phone us to ask about our trip schedule.

Q. What is the cost for Shop 'n Drop Service?

A. Our fee is 12% of the total of the store receipt for the items you ordered, and we offer a discount if you pay cash. There is a $10 minimum fee, but until June 1, 2006, that minimum is waived. Let's look at an example: if we purchase $100 of merchandise for you, you'll pay us $112, which includes $100 for your items and $12 for our fee. That's less than the cost of driving your own car and you save time too.

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?

A. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover in addition to cash. Sorry, at this time we don't accept checks.

Q. Are there any limitations to the Shop 'n Drop service?

A. We do have size limitations based on the number of prior orders we have received and the vehicle size available for our trip. In addition, some items are not suitable for this service. We'll tell you before the trip if we can't accommodate your request.

Q. What if I can't pick up my items right away?

A. You'll know our schedule when you order, so let us know at that time if you won't be able to accept your items upon our return to Big Bear and we'll try to accommodate you. If we just never hear from you, your items will be returned to the store on our next trip and you will be required to provide a deposit prior to placing future orders.

Q. What if you bring me the wrong item?

A. Although we ask that you be specific about the items and quantities that you order, we understand that miscommunication is possible. If we're not clear about an item, we might contact you prior to purchase for additional information, or we might not purchase that item. If we purchase the wrong item for you, you will receive credit or a refund for that item and we will return it on our next trip to your favorite store. Service is what we sell.

Q. From which stores may I order items?

A. At this time, we offer Shop 'n Drop service for Trader Joe's, Costco, WalMart, K-Mart, Vons, and Stater Bros. Other stores may be added in the future. Tell us where you'd like us to shop for you.

Q. How do I get started?

A. Phone, fax, or e-mail your order to us now. Include your name, address, and home phone number along with the quantity and description of the items you want. Include the item number, if you know it, and size or other details that help us get exactly what you want. For example, if you want eggs from Costco, tell us if you want the 18-pack or the 5-dozen flat.
