FBO Carriage and Rental has adapted the "crew car" concept to the auto rental business. Now when you visit the Big Bear City Airport, you don't have to worry about transportation once you land. Call ahead and FBOCAR will meet you plane-side with your rental car and have you on your way in minutes, and our cars are priced by the hour and billed in 15 minute increments so you don't pay for a whole day when you only need an hour to play, eat, or run an errand. Rental Rates
Hourly rate billed in 15 minute increments with 1 hour minimum and 4 hour cap per day. Includes 100 miles per day. $0.25 for each additional mile.

Pick Up and No Show Policy
Rental reservations will be held 2 hours after the requested pick up time. If
the vehicle is not picked up within two hours of the requested pick up time
your reservation status will be changed to a NO SHOW and the car will be
released. We ask that you contact the reservation center if you need to change the
pick up time of your requested vehicle to avoid any problems. The reservation
center is open daily from 8am until 6pm.
Rate Basis and Currency
Our rates are charged on a 1/4 hour time basis, and you are given no grace
period to return your vehicle. Rates are in US dollars (USD). Taxes are
additional. Surcharges may apply. Please check at the time of reservation for the
amounts of any applicable surcharges.
Acceptable Charge Cards
The charge card must be in the renter's name. Cash is not accepted in lieu of
credit identification at the beginning of the rental, however, Cash can be
used at the end of the rental for payment of rental charges. Checks and prepaid
credit cards are not accepted at this time. A minimum of $500 must be
available on a major credit card for a standard car rental. Call the Reservation
Center for limits required on specialty vehicles. Acceptable credit cards: American
Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover Card.
Contract Rates
If your vehicle is needed beyond the due date stated at the time of the
opening of the contract, the customer MUST return to the original rental office and
sign a new contract. The rate is subject to change. When a vehicle is
reserved and rented, the confirmed rate is only good during that specific time
period. Any extension or revision of the original reservation of any amount of time
will result in a rate change. Rates are not prorated.
Vehicles Leaving California
Vehicles are permitted to enter California and Nevada only. If you wish to
enter a state that is not CA or NV, please contact a rental agent or reservation
center for details. Vehicles are not permitted to enter Mexico at any time.
One Way Rental and Drop Off
If arrangements are made in advance, you may pick up your vehicle at one
location and return to another location. One-way rentals are based on availability
and must be returned in CA. Any one-way rental car leaving the state of CA
must receive prior approval to avoid added charges. The drop off fee begins at
$25.00. Please contact the reservation center for your exact fee and other
details.
No Brand Guarantees
FBO Carriage and Rental, LLC does not guarantee specific brands or colors of
vehicles at any time.
Insurance - Property Damage
The renter is liable for all damage to the rental vehicle regardless of
fault. The renter is also liable for loss of use of the vehicle (revenue lost while
the car is being repaired). If you have rental car coverage through your
personal insurance or charge card, that coverage may contain a deductible. If you
have any questions, check with your insurance provider. Written proof of
insurance is required at all of our locations.
Insurance - Liability
No liability coverage is provided to
the renter/driver. Proof that renter has liability coverage is required by state
law. Written proof of liability coverage is required at time of rental. Proof
of coverage is an insurance card or policy page from your personal car
insurance policy.
Driver's License
All drivers must have a valid driver's license in their possession to rent a
vehicle. No copies or faxed licenses will be accepted at any time. The
original license must be presented, and must be in the name of the driver. The
renter's driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period. An
International Driving Permit (DIP) serves only as a translation of a valid driver's
license. A DIP must always be presented in conjunction with the official driver's
license of the issuing country. FBO Carriage and Rental, LLC will not rent to a
holder of a license that restricts the license holder to daytime driving only
or to business driving only. A learner's permit is not accepted. An expired
license is not accepted. A valid temporary license is accepted with acceptable
government issued photo identification.
Second Means of Identification
You are required to also present a second means of identification with your
signature. Any second means of ID with a signature is acceptable; such as a
department store card, library card, etc. However, it should not be the same as
the credit identification. (For example: If you are using American Express for
the rental, a different means of identification with a signature must be
shown.) Big Bear residents are also required to bring with them at the time of car
pick up a utility bill from their current home address with their name on it.
Without this additional means of ID, the car will not be issued.
Additional Drivers
At the time of rental an additional driver must complete an additional driver
form, be at least 21 years of age, present an honored charge card, and
present a valid driver's license and proof of valid personal auto insurance. For
certain vehicles, additional drivers must be 25 years old. An authorized driver
for a disabled renter is exempt from the additional driver credit requirement.
There is no charge for one additional driver if over the age of 25. However,
all additional drivers must have their own credit card, in their name, present
with them at the time of the rental.
Special Services
Child Safety Seats are available with a minimum of 24-hour advance booking
for an additional charge of $5/day. Since availability is limited, please
reserve child seats in advance. Ski Racks are not available at this location. Snow
Chains are not available at this location. Rental vehicles are equipped with
all weather tires.
Fuel Charges
All rentals returned with a fuel level less than the fuel level when rented
will be charged $3.00 per 1/16th of a tank used.
Contract Violations
Contract violations include, but are not limited to: 1. Driving the vehicle
outside of CA or NV. 2. Driving while intoxicated. 3. Towing of any sort 4.
Failure to return the rental vehicle by due date and time. 5. Operation of the
vehicle by someone who is not listed as an authorized driver on the contract. 6.
Failure to pay all charges listed on the contract at time of return.
